VW '95 Golf Radio Resetting

The radio in My 95 Golf worked OK. Now the display reads SAFE. I have the Sound

System Manual with the radio code. So I follow the instructions to cancel the lock-up. After

pressing the "safe" and "mode" buttons down as instructed the display shows "21". This is as

far as I get. But the radio still does not play. How do I get it to play again, please.

Stevepop,

If you are sure the code is correct then the radio has probably failed and needs to be replaced.
