traction control comes on during hard left turns after getting new rear tyres on 07 GTI . why might

Yesterday I got new Toyo Teo Plus 225/45 R17 tyres on rear wheels only of my Mk 5 2006 Golf GTI 2.0T and now I've noticed the steering feels horrible and I feel the traction control come on at the front right wheel during hard left hand turns. Also the steering wheel is now slightly out of line when travelling in a straight line. The people supposedly didn't touch the front wheels but it definitely feels very diifferent from prior to getting the new tyres. The current front tyres are not very old (less than one year) and have plenty of tread. I've booked in to get an alignment next week.

I was just wondering if it's possible that simply changing the rear tyres on my car could cause these problems? I certainly won't be going back to the same place to get new tyres next time I need them.

Having two different size or tread patterns can sometimes cause this. And actually on a front wheel drive car the new tires should be put on the front not the rear. Are the rear front tires also 245/45/17?
