Looking to buy a B5 Passat, any known issues?

I am looking at a 2002 Passat and wanted to know if they are reliable, expensive to maintain, hav a lot of problems? I need an inexpensive family car.

Some of them have a couple small issues I would be sure the car you are looking at before you buy it. To better help, is it the 1.8 turbo or a V6?

It has the turbo 4 cylinder.
