How do I fix my electrical problem
Car is a 2000 VW Beetle GLS 1.8 Turbo

What should I check for to solve the electrical Problem I'm having Drivers side power door lock suddenly won't lock automatically anymore and just makes noises when it tries to lock.The fuel door release also makes a very faint sound and will not open. The release switch is new and was working.
The Drivers side mirror switch broke a while back ( Knob flew out of switch when I closed the door) I replaced it with a new switch but the mirror hasn't worked since that. when I try to, the dash lights flash!!! I do most of my vehicle repairs but this one has me BAFFLED!!!!
Would appreciate any help or guidance
