check engine light is telling me "p0332 Crankshaft/engine speed(RPM) sensor- no signal"

The check engine light is on intermittently on my 2001 VW jetta GL, and I used a CodeKey reader to see that the code the engine is sending is "p0332 Crankshaft/engine speed(RPM) sensor- no signal". Anyone have an idea of what this involves to be repaired? thanks

Already Tried:
try clearing out the codes and drove the car and check engine light came back on in less then a mile.
